Description
The „Schools of Attica“ project comprises two public-private partnership contracts involving the financing, design and building of 24 schools, and their operation and maintenance by private sector construction partners for 25 years following their completion. All of the schools are located in Greece’s Attica region and the project addresses shortcomings in the region both in terms of quality and quantity of school buildings.

Aim
The projectaims to solve the problems of limited capacity and shared use of buildings. The buildings arehighly self-sufficient in terms of energy consumption and bring innovative construction practices in Greece. For example, they include facilities for students with disabilities, green roofs, rainwater management, water recycling systems, photovoltaics on the roofs, floating stairs to save space, thermal insulation on exterior walls and floors, and synthetic floors for sports facilities.

Students will have the opportunity to study in an optimal educational environment with high quality infrastructure.

The classrooms are modern, safe with ecological design and are managed according to strict quality and performance standards.
