Description

he BIM4D project, funded by the Erasmus+ programme, aims to enhance the skills of the construction industry, focusing on the effective use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies in the end-of-life phase of construction projects. The project develops green and digital skills among professionals to facilitate sustainable demolition practices and efficient resource management, thus supporting the transition to a more digital and environmentally conscious construction sector.

What makes this project/initiative unique?:
It addresses to a variety of European priorities (e.g. the aforementioned European Skills Agenda, the European Green Deal or the Digital Agenda), It identifies the training needs for developing adequate programs in respect of energy efficiency, digitalisation and circular economy in construction sector, It integrates the necessary construction green skills in VET, It helps the cooperation with VET international networks, It develops soft skills in training (to learn how to promote innovation to clients, workers, institutions, Social partners), It updates accumulation/synthesis of good practices used in the construction field in the participating countries in order to be disseminated to the interested parties

Aim

The main aim of BIM4D is to develop and strengthen new green and digital skills for the European construction and demolition market. The project promotes circular economy, resource efficiency, and sustainable demolition practices through the integration of BIM technologies. Innovative VET training programmes are developed to meet current labour market needs and increase the flexibility and attractiveness of construction training. Transnational cooperation enables the exchange of best practices and the development of policy recommendations for sustainable and digital transformation in the construction sector.

Target Groups:
The direct target group consists of construction and demolition workers (EQF 4-5) who wish to acquire skills in the use of BIM in end-of-life practices. Indirect target groups include stakeholders such as construction and demolition associations, VET trainers, academics, and policymakers. The project involves these groups in needs analyses, training, policy discussions, and dissemination activities

Creation of a free online learning platform (Moodle)
Implementation of training modules and pilot trainings in five countries
Preparation of policy recommendations and national/transnational reports
