Description

Interactive virtual tour of the ConstruForm (construction training centre) space dedicated to exploring the key stages of reflection on sustainable construction and the Walloon regulations on the energy performance of buildings (EPB). This digital experience enables trainers to use the space without having to travel with their learners and/or to encourage them to continue this exploration through homework assignments to be completed at home.

Partners

The Centre IFAPME LHV worked with Buildwise to produce the 360° photos that enable the virtual tour. This content was transferred to the Matterport application (https://my.matterport.com/show/?m=xr9cJBpFQrh) and is hosted by Buildwise as part of the EDIH-CONNECT project (https://www.edih-connect.be/) and the Construction du Futur project (https://www.digitalwallonia.be/industrie). The Centre IFAPME Liège-Huy-Verviers enriched the tour with interactive hotspots to animate it in the same way we would do during an on-site visit using tablets.

Aim

The objective is to raise awareness of the principles of sustainable construction, with a particular emphasis on the energy performance of buildings. These principles are governed by existing regulations (EPB) as well as by regulatory frameworks currently being developed, notably those relating to the environmental impact of construction. This context requires continuous monitoring by IFAPME and Forem trainers specialising in sustainable construction, in order to ensure that training participants remain informed of forthcoming developments in the sector.

The virtual tour allows for the activation of different types of interactive hotspots according to the target audience, enabling the creation of multiple learning pathways identified by distinct colours.
The virtual tour may be enhanced with additional interactive hotspots without requiring participants to update the access link to the virtual visit.

The virtual tour addresses emerging themes in the construction sector through an engaging digital approach, using tools that are familiar to younger audiences (smartphones and tablets), while fully integrating the concepts of sustainable construction and the circular economy. It promotes an interactive learning dynamic by encouraging participants to actively reflect on the concepts presented.

Target Groups:
The primary target audience consists of construction professionals, including workers, contractors and design offices (architects, engineers, etc.), whether they are already active professionals or professionals in training.
Awareness-raising discovery activities may also be organised for young people or for the general public, with different possible learning pathways identified by distinct colours.

Outcomes

Results of the project/initiative:
All trainers operating on the ConstruForm site are encouraged to make use of the physical EPB learning pathway. Access to the virtual tour has been widely disseminated; however, its actual use remains outside our direct control.
