Description

The project “Training and Certification of employees in the construction and materials sector” aims to develop capacity building of 1.200. employees of the construction sector, though the development and delivery of VET and certification/ accreditation. In particular, 2 training programs will be delivered (duration 80 hours each) in the areas of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Electronic Procurement for Public bids. By the completion of the training programs, all beneficiaries will participate in certification examinations, according to the ISO 17024 international standards for the accreditation of individuals. Additionally, each beneficiary will receive a training allowance.

Phases:
1st phase: Design of the innovative training curricula, according to labour market demands
2nd phase: Design of the certification schemes of the developed training programs, according to ISO 17024 international standards for the accreditation of individuals.
3rd: Selection of beneficiaries (1.200 employees all over the country) who are going to attend the training programme)
4th: Open call- European public procurement for tenders to implement the training and certification activities
5th: Delivery of VET to the selected beneficiaries
6th phase: Delivery of the certification services (implementation of the examinations according to ISO 17024 international standards for the accreditation of individuals)
7th phase: By the completion of training and certification, each beneficiary will receive a training allowance.

Aim

The project aims to develop professional capacity of 1.200 employees of the construction sector, through providing training and certification services in the areas of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Electronic Procurement for Public bids.

Outcomes

Results of the project/initiative:
A growing number of employees (1.200) all over the country will develop key knowledge, skills and competences, according to labour market demands. Recognition of skills and competences according to ISO international standards, is considered to be an extra asset.

Impacts/Outcomes 2:
Enhance attractiveness of the construction sector. Increase mobility and facilitate access to the construction industry.

Impacts/Outcomes 3:
Enhance construction sector readiness to adapt in new challenges, according to the new development model of the country.

Skills Gaps:
The project addresses skills gaps on the following fields: Building Information Modelling (BIM) and Electronic Procurement for Public bids.

Career Moves:
The project encourages career moves in the construction sector, by addressing to all employees of the private sector (not exclusively to the construction sector employees), in order to foster access of labor force in the construction industry.
